San Jorge, Samar - The Department of Education, District of San Jorge, Western Samar held a District Teacher’s meeting at Barangay Lapaz Elementary School with Commanding Officer, 14IB, 8ID, PA as special guest on January 21, 2012.
The said activity was attended by seventy five (75) personalities composed of school heads and elementary school teachers of the whole district. Mr Cesar P Del Rosario, the District In-charge invited Lt Col Napoleon Z De Vera Inf (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 14th Infantry (Avenger) Battalion, Philippine Army as guest of honor and speaker during the said meeting.Mr Del Rosario warmly welcomed and expressed gratitude to the unit by giving a Certificate of Recognition to Lt Col. De Vera for the unit’s selfless effort and contribution on the accomplishment of the different school’s activities. Especially mentioned were the active and effective employment of security measures at the hinter barangays and participation of the troops during the Joint Boy/Girl Scout Campo Rally, District Jamboree and transportation assistance extended to the delegates (administrators, teachers and students) to Regional Jamboree and Unit Meet activities at the municipality of Paranas and Pagsanjan, Western Samar respectively. “We will support and work hand in hand with the 14th IB for peace and development in this municipality”, Del Rosario said.
Lt Col. De Vera, upon receipt of the certificate of recognition, humbly expressed his appreciation on the gesture of the DepEd District of San Jorge and thanked the participants for their boldness in giving assurance for support and cooperation with the internal peace and security effort of this unit. He courteously explained to the participants the government’s concept on Internal Peace and Security Plan and even shared with them the essence of “Bayanihan” in achieving the common goal.
The Commanding Officer of the Avenger assured that the unit will continue to support the schools’ activities and to enhance effective and efficient service to all stakeholders through Internal Peace and Security Plan “Bayanihan” in order to win the peace in the area of operations.
