About Us

The Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) of the 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army was activated on 01 August 2006 per Letter Directive from HPA dated 03 July 2006 and GO # 367 H8ID dated 26 July 2006 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army. 

The directive provides the concept of implementation on the activation of DPAO in each Infantry Division of the Philippine Army as embodied in the Letter of Instruction – Reorganization of the Civil Affairs Group, Headquarters Philippine Army dated March 2006.

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE DIVISION PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICE (DPAO)
RESPONSIBILITY:
The Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) is a special staff assistant to the Division Commander on matters pertaining to Public Affairs and limited Command Information in support to the Infantry Division operations.
FUNCTIONS:
a. Performs media relations within the parameters of and as required in the performance of the commands mission.

b. Conceptualizes, develops, and publishes public information products and evaluates its impact on intended audience.
c. Monitors and evaluates public information products that affect the command
d. Conducts community relations activities in coordination with other concerned units.
e. Provides the publication of unit journals, newsletters and other command information products.
f. Conducts photo, audio and video coverage of command activities.
g. In coordination with G3, advises the Commanding General on all public affairs implications of command activities.
